The free concert series, [email protected], was begun in 2012 to enrich the arts scene in Encinitas for residents, visitors, and cultural tourists from throughout the region. It has become the highest attended daytime series in the county. The weekly 50 minute concerts at the Encinitas Library feature outstanding musicians from throughout Southern California performing all styles of music. The public is welcome to bring lunch or purchase from the library's coffee cart. We hope to see you often! Established musicians who are interested in performing are encouraged to contact City of Encinitas Arts Program Administrator, Jim Gilliam, (760) 633-2746, or email.

Music By The Sea
Starting in 2012, the City has presented Music By The Sea, a ticketed concert series at the Encinitas Library. Nine monthly Friday night concerts feature the talented artists who are the winners of the Beverly Hills National Auditions. Under the Artistic Direction of Laura Schmieder, more than 100 local and international artists are juried to participate in the annual auditions. Nine artists/ensembles are selected for the monthly concerts which take place in Encinitas, Thousand Oaks and Beverly Hills. Individual concert tickets are $14 each. "A much-sought-after opportunity for performers...the talent level is extremely high." (Los Angeles Times)

Since 2012, the City has partnered with iPalpiti Artists, International, as a host city for the iPalpiti Festival of International Laureates, and is the site for five "world class" concerts. Each summer, the festival draws more than 24 award-winning young musicians from 20 different countries to the southland to present a series of solo and orchestra concerts. The 2017 festival consists of 10 days in Encinitas, July 10-19, 2017, with four Soloists Concerts at the Encinitas Library and a performance by the iPalpiti Orchestra at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church. The festival continues with concerts in Orange County, Los Angeles and Beverly Hills, and the grand finale at Walt Disney Concert Hall on July 29, 2017.
“One of the best music events of the summer.” (San Diego Union-Tribune)
