Affordable Apartments and Homes

The City achieves affordable housing units in a variety of ways, such as providing assistance in the development of the units, or as a result of local or state requirements. The units are often located in communities, where there is a mix of affordable and market rate units, and are not guaranteed to be affordable for everyone.

Due to limited availability and increased need for affordable housing, each of the apartment communities typically has a waiting list. The following table shows the City’s affordable apartments. Interested households are encouraged to contact the communities individually to determine the eligibility criteria and waitlist information.

New Affordable Housing

In addition to multi-family affordable units, occasionally, affordable homes are available for rent as a part of a new subdivision. Typically, these are single-family homes that are made available through the City’s inclusionary housing program or the State’s Density Bonus housing program. Within the program requirements, the developer performs the marketing, establishes the rent price, creates and maintains an interest list, and determines qualified applicants. The City performs an oversight role in ensuring compliance of the affordability requirements. The table below provides information on rental affordable housing opportunities that may be available in the near future. As new projects and/or contact information becomes available, this table will be updated.
